Edie Sedgwick tells Butch all about her life to the sound of Brian Eno’s classic track “Third Uncle” off of the 1974 album “Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)”. Eno and Peter Schmidt developed instruction cards called Oblique Strategies to use through the creative process of the album. The album did not chart in the United Kingdom or United States, but received much critical acclaim. The core group of musicians on the album consisted of Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music, Brian Turrington and Freddie Smith of The Winkies, and Soft Machine’s Robert Wyatt. Several guest musicians also played on select songs on the album. These included Andy Mackay of Roxy Music, and Phil Collins of Genesis. The song was rather successfully covered by Bauhaus as well.
